It seems like everyone is talking about Lily, a personal camera drone currently in development. You can pre-order a Lily "selfie drone" for just around $500. The full retail price will be $1000, so act soon if you want the pre-order price (which is available until June 15th).

The promotional website and videos promoting this personal drone camera are impressive. Just toss the drone in the air and go on your adventuresome way. Lily will follow along and record all the action.

A quick Google search reveals that there are several more similar "personal camera drones" in development, including the AirDog drone for GoPro cameras and the Hexo+.

These personal camera drones seem to be the tip of the iceberg. How long will it be until we all have our own personal photo/selfie/adventure/security drone following our every move?
