A Cockapoo is a cross between a Poodle (usually a Miniature Poodle) and a Cocker Spaniel. The so-called designer crossbreed was first developed in the United States in the 1960s as a companion dog that would combine the best of both parent breeds. The popular Cockapoo may also be known as the Cockerdoodle (especially in Australia, where designer pooches are also very popular) or the Spoodle.
